Visit Our Sanctuary
Join us for a wide range of Sanctuary Experiences at Heartland to learn more about the work we do, meet our rescued residents and experience the magic of sanctuary.
Tips Before You Visit!
To keep our residents safe and healthy, we are not available for drop-in visitors. Schedule a tour time below!
Please dress for the weather & set expectations for all participants of the tour: we operate a bit differently than a petting zoo or working farm in that we allow the animals to choose how, when, and with whom they interact. Therefore, animal interaction isn't guaranteed on your tour. Additionally, we are observing avian flu quarantine protocols (avian flu is a pathogen spread from people to birds but people cannot contract it). This means that you may have limited access to interacting with birds.
All visitors must sign a waiver before coming on site.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Policies & Guidelines
While on site, we ask that you keep these rules & guidelines in mind to ensure that animal interactions are kept safe and positive:
Please do not feed animals at any time
Please ask your tour guide before interacting with any specific residents who may be roaming the barn area
Please keep your hands outside of the animal enclosures unless otherwise directed by a staff member
Please keep your voices at an inside volume and use walking feet in the barn
Please do not mimic animal sounds back to animals
Please stay with your tour group and notify your tour group if you are leaving the tour for any reason
Please allow animals to walk away from human interactions (do not pursue animals or run after animals)
Please respect avian flu quarantine protocols
If you are feeling ill or are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms (temperature, fever/chills, cough, shortness of breath, etc.) PLEASE STAY HOME. You can find Heartland’s updated Covid policies here.
Cancellation policy: Private tour cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made after that time will be considered a tax-deductible donation.
